Newbury Elementary School has been hosting a community Farm and Field Day for almost a decade. This year, they are opening the event to a small number of teachers, community organizations, and others who are interested in observing and learning from their model.

Members of the local agricultural community present to students on their area of expertise—dairy cows, working steer, beef cows, turkeys, sheep, planting, animal nutrition, herding dogs, farm equipment, and more!

The event is already at capacity for students, but the Newbury team would love to welcome adults who are considering creating or strengthening a celebration of their own. It’s a chance to see how they organize the day, engage their community, and connect the event to their broader farm to school work.

Register as an observer

On October 21, 3–4:00PM, the Vermont Farm to School & Early Childhood Network will host a peer-to-peer conversation to discuss creating farm to school celebrations and their role in the larger work. Learn more.
